6 Fall & Halloween Themed Lunch Boxes

1. Fall Leaves themed lunch

PB&J cut into leaf shapes, Maple Leaf cookies from Aldi, apple slices, and yogurt with fall sprinkles.

2. Mummy hot dogs

Mummy hot dogs, pumpkin spice Cheerios, Halloween Oreos, Halloween pretzels, mandarin oranges and Danimals smoothies (orange creamsicle flavor)

3. English muffin pizzas

And just to show you that not everything goes as planned, here are the lunches my children refused to eat. English muffin pizzas (one with an olive and bacon spider), vampire teeth apple slices, and oranges and tootsie rolls to make pumpkins with an eyeball chocolate.

4. Pumpkin themed lunch boxes

Ham & Cheese sandwiches cut out with a pumpkin cookies cutter (purchased on Amazon here), Babybel Halloween cheese, pumpkin patch dirt cups, Halloween pretzels and one with raisins and one with pumpkin spice Cheerios.

5. Spookley the Square pumpkin snacks

Graham crackers, green M&Ms, candy eyeballs, and black icing. I made orange icing with vanilla frosting and food coloring.

6. Spider lunch boxes

PB&J with pretzel stick legs, candy eyeballs, Veggie Chips, cheese stick/ Halloween Babybel cheese + grapes and spider rings (purchased at the Dollar Tree)

FYI* These lunch boxes are Bentgo lunch boxes and I got them on Groupon!

Pumpkins!!

We took a break from our Letters of the Week and did pumpkins for Halloween!

I made a pumpkin Play-Doh from iheartcraftythings which is still being played with!

I also made a sensory bin (these are really popular with my 3-year-old!) with black beans for 5 Little Pumpkins. I bought the pumpkin containers from Amazon.

From this…To that!

Last year for Halloween, my girls were Snow White and a Bumblebee.

And it was adorable. See for yourself:

But I wanted them to have matching candy holders for each of their costumes.

I wasn’t finding what I wanted online or anywhere for that matter.

So I made them myself.

When I was younger, we just used good ol’ pillowcases for Trick-or-Treating.

1) There’s no way my kids can carry a big pillowcase

2) They don’t need that much candy

So I went to Wal-Mart and bought two regular orange Jack-O-lantern pumpkins. Then, I got brown packing tape and some red duct tape.

When I got home, I wrapped each pumpkin in it’s respective tape until the orange and the faces were no longer visible.

For Emma’s, I did an apple since she was Snow White and finished it off with some green ribbon wrapped around the handle.

For Addie’s, my bumblebee, I took black permanent marker and wrote “HUNNY” on it (like Pooh).

All in all, the project probably took me a day to complete (during nap time and after bedtime)

And my kids had one-of-a-kind Halloween treat bags.

This year, we are going as the Sanderson sisters (from Hocus Pocus) so they will have little cauldrons as their treat bags.

More on our costumes and those in a later post!

Happy Halloween!

Madeline Dresses

“In an old house in Paris that was covered in vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines.”

For a while, I had been eyeing some cute Madeline dresses I had seen on Pinterest.

I happen to be lucky and have a very crafty grandma who can sew, and I asked her to make them for me.

She offered to help.

Oh grandma, you cruel, cruel woman.

So I reluctantly bought a pattern from Etsy and cut it out.

And there it sat for about two months.

Right before my grandma left to go back to Michigan (snowbirds. ugh), she had me over to her house and we busted out one of the dresses in a few hours.

Then, she left.

And I had the sew the next one. By. My. Self. *gasp*

With a little help from the hubby, we finished both dresses (we had to sew on buttons and make button holes) in about 2-3 days.

Then, I bought some hats from Amazon and added a little extra long black ribbon.

Let me just tell you: They. Were. Presh.

Don’t take my word for it. See for yourself:
